Volunteering

Volunteer with Auckland Youth & Community Centre

We are always looking for new volunteers to support our work. Extra pairs of hands would help us to deliver existing projects and also start up new activities.

We have lots of events planned for 2018 for which we would really appreciate your support!

Hear what our volunteers have to say themselves. Here is a quote from one of our volunteers who helps with youth provision, events and general maintenance

“When I was a young person I attended the AYCC, now I have children of my own who attend the after school project. Whenever I think of my home and Community the AYCC has always been apart of it so it’s lovely to be able to give something back and be apart of something that gives back to the community!” – Joni Moore

AYCC Volunteers Recognised at Beamish Celebration Day

AYCC’s staff and volunteers were among the hundreds invited to Beamish open-air museum in the summer of 2017 to celebrate the fantastic achievements of voluntary organisations across County Durham. The event paid particular attention to hard work and dedication of the County’s thousands of volunteers who amazing work in their communities every day of the year.

John Wiseman with Ron Hogg at Beamish receiving Rebecca White's Certificate of Achievement

The outstanding work of one AYCC volunteer, Rebecca White (pictured at the top of this page answering the phone), led to her receiving a certificate of achievement from Ron Hogg, the Police, Crime and Victims’ Commissioner for County Durham and Darlington. Unfortunately, as Rebecca was on holiday, her certificate was received by John Wiseman, AYCC Business Development Manager.
